Most of GATE preparation is you, a notebook and a problem set. A partner helps in a quiet way: another person working next to you at the same time, with no discussion needed.
None of this needs a study group or a discussion: it needs someone present at a set time.
You book a 25 or 50 minute slot. There is one every quarter hour, around the clock, in your own time zone, and the session ends at the same time for both of you. Whoever booked the same quarter hour is your partner. You say in one sentence what you'll do (a chapter, a problem set, a timed paper), then you work in silence. The camera stays on and the microphone can stay muted.
If you practise in timed blocks, a 50 minute session gives you the same shape: start together, work, finish together. Between sessions you take your break and book the next one. You can keep goals and your session history in the Agenda if you turn it on.
This is company while you work. Your partner isn't a tutor, and we don't provide notes, solutions or ranking. We are not affiliated with, sponsored or approved by the institutes that organise GATE or any other exam body.
No. It's the same for any kind of focused work: another exam, a thesis, a project or coding. Whatever you say you're working on is your own business.
It's free, no credit card.
One sentence at the start about what you're going to work on is enough. After that you each work on your own: the camera stays on, and the microphone can stay muted from start to finish.
The session starts anyway: for the first five minutes we look for someone while you work. If nobody arrives, you choose: carry on with a virtual companion (not a real person), look for a person in the next quarter hour, or leave. The service is new, so at unusual hours the pool is smaller.
