Where Focusmate may suit you better

If you want the longer track record.

Where WeFocusBuddy may suit you better

If you want to pay nothing and keep the microphone off.

I won't promise someone will be there in the very first minute: the pool is smaller, and the first five minutes are exactly for finding a person. What I can promise is smaller and you can check it: at the time you picked, the session starts.

Frequently asked questions

Is WeFocusBuddy the same as Focusmate?

No. They are two separate services run by different companies. WeFocusBuddy is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored or approved by Focusmate Inc.

Which one is free?

Both have a free way in. Focusmate's pricing page says free for up to three sessions per week, with a paid plan for unlimited sessions. WeFocusBuddy is free, with no credit card, and there is no paid plan today. Prices were checked on 29 October 2026 and can change.

Do both use a camera?

Focusmate's FAQ tells you to set up your camera so your partner can see you. On WeFocusBuddy the camera stays on for the session and the microphone can stay muted from start to finish.

Which one has more people?

Focusmate has been running much longer and reports over 12 million completed sessions on its own site. WeFocusBuddy is new, so there are fewer people to match with, especially at odd hours. If nobody arrives, the session still starts and we look for someone else for the first five minutes.

No credit card. No ads. Database and video calls run on servers in the European Union.
